Shadow Ops: Red Mercury - world's first 64-bit game

AI Thread Summary
AMD Athlon 64 technology is significantly enhancing game design capabilities, allowing developers to create more complex scenes, advanced physics, and improved artificial intelligence. This 64-bit architecture provides the necessary power to implement detailed graphics and THX 5.1 acoustic sound across all game levels, which was challenging with previous 32-bit systems. The discussion also notes that while AMD64 is a major advancement, it is not the first instance of a 64-bit game, referencing earlier 64-bit games developed on SGI systems.

  • “AMD Athlon 64 technology is revolutionizing game design and, given the tremendous power and freedom AMD64 offers to our game designers, we are able to create scenes, physics, artificial intelligence, map sizes and graphics detail that we only dreamed of on 32-bit platforms,“ said Wim Stocks, executive vice president, sales and marketing at Atari. “Using 32-bit code alone, we were unable to offer THX 5.1 acoustic sound with every level of detail enabled and still maintain a playable game; with AMD64 64-bit technology we can now do that and much more.”

That's not the world's first 64 bit game. I've played a 3D-tetris clone on my SGI, that I *know* is compiled natively for 64bit.

Thread 'Urgent: Physically repair - or bypass - power button on Asus laptop'
Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
