AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around creating a poll to determine participants' Myers-Briggs personality types. Initial posts express a desire for more options in the poll, leading to suggestions for additional personality types and links to various personality tests. Participants share their results, with many identifying as INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, and ENFJ, discussing the accuracy of the tests and their experiences with different personality types over time. There is a light-hearted tone as users joke about editing the poll and the subjective nature of the questions. Some express frustration at not being able to select multiple options or at the limitations of the original poll. Overall, the thread emphasizes the interest in personality types and the nuances of individual assessments.

One second, I'll create the poll then add the link.

There weren't enough options to list them all so I took out the ones I thought would be least common. If a mod can expand it, please do so.

Here's one test here:

If you know any others, post away.

get your definitions here if needed:

Oh come on, I'm ENTJ

I've been INTJ & ENTJ, I could answer some questions either way depending on my mood. I think I might have been a P instead of a J once, years ago. Can I select multiple choices? :biggrin:

your a mod, edit the poll yourself. :biggrin:

yomamma you're so judgemental.

INTJ...what does the N stand for?
Under INTJ, it says Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging.

you forgot x, which is equally i and e. I am an x, neither more introvert or extrovert.

I'm surprised that isn't an option on the original poll. It would make sense, being one of the rationals and all...

Wow...after reading the descriptions for INTJ, I got to say this test is pretty accurate.

INTP. Always was, it seems :smile:

Anyways, thanks for making a new poll
Let's hope this thread extends beyond mine! :shy:
(b/c mine was kinda short,)

so xnfp, but very close to xntp.

I'm ENTP. The description sounds about right, as well.

You're a mod! Quit complaining and change one of the ones no one's voted for yet! Put tribdog's up there too.

:smile: Tribdog's is the same one. Okay, I'll change it...if I can. Don't blame me if the whole thread explodes; I've never edited a poll before. :-p

Yep, that's what I usually get. I think INTP describes me best, and INTJ just wins out on the questions that could go either way (and INFP and INFJ can't manage to get a word in) ...not that I expect 72 Yes-or-No questions to tell me more about myself than I already know...

Duh. That'd be tribdog's fault.

Okay, I've edited in the options people have actually gotten in place of ones nobody has given (first-come-first-serve around here). I didn't realize how many things I could change in these polls before...nifty. :biggrin:

Feel free to change my polls any time moony :wink:

INTP. Just the other night I got INTJ on the same test, though the J was only 1 percent (this time, P was 22%). However, the description of INTP does seem to fit me a fair bit better.

I believe I've taken tests like this a number of times in the past. As a teenager (~14-16) I used to regularly score as INFP, if memory serves.

whoops, put the wrong entry into the poll. Can't seem to erase it.

I'm sure moonbear will figure it out. She loves messing with my poll.

As an appreciator of homophones and innuendo, I must say :smile: :smile:

No matter how I change my flip-flop responses it says I am an ENTJ- also known as the Field Marshall. Pretty accurate, except I really cannot ever see myself being in charge of important things- I just like to organize people into smooth flowing groups that get things done. Weird profile for someone getting his Ph.D. in theoretical physics...

I don't know what hypnagogue did to it, but I don't think there's anything I can do to fix it now. :-p

Funny that we can change the number of votes but not who voted for those options.

Interesting. When I took this the other night, I predicted an INTP (had never taken it before), but got an INTJ, with J by 1%. Perhaps I will have to retake it.

By the way, how the heck do they know that Julius Caesar and Hannibal were both INTJs? I always figured I'd make a good general, incidentally.

Hmm...i can't answer the poll since my acronym isn't listed. Heh, I am uncommon. (thats for damn sure!:biggrin: )

I got ENFJ

You are:

* slightly expressed extrovert
* distinctively expressed intuitive personality
* moderately expressed feeling personality
* moderately expressed judging personality

Though, i think mines a bit off. I do like my own personal space and I am a private person when it comes to details-but I am exetremely extroverted. Complete social butterfly and a total people person.

Though, a lot of those questions were quite subjective. Yes or no didnt quite work for some things asked.

Heh, I spent most of the day yesterday reading about types. INTP is the one that fits me best, followed by INTJ and INFP. If anyone is interested, these were pretty good sites.

http://www.gesher.org/Myers-Briggs/Myers_Briggs.html
http://www.bestfittype.com/
http://cognitiveprocesses.com/
http://www.4temperaments.com/
Or for a quick overview of some different models, see
http://www.16types.com/Request.jsp?hView=DynamicPage&Content=The16Types

I think the comparisons on that first site and the "cognitive processes" breakdown were the most helpful. The type descriptions seem to vary a lot from one site to the next and tend to let the author's personal judgements leak in. My own assessment doesn't fit with any of the types, but maybe I don't understand it well enough (or maybe it's wrong). I think it was still a valuable learning experience. Anyone else like thinking about these things?

There's still room to add it. You got here while there were a few untaken categories left. Actually, now I'll get to try something else I saw last time but didn't dare try. :biggrin: It's fun learning how these super powers work.

Oooh, yeah! I can add more than 10 options. :biggrin:
