AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the concept of extraterrestrial intelligence, emphasizing that the lack of contact from aliens may itself be the strongest indicator of their existence. A humorous analogy is made comparing cockroaches to extraterrestrial beings, highlighting their resilience and perceived intelligence. The conversation also touches on the idea of Dyson Spheres, suggesting that any advanced civilization capable of constructing such a structure would likely not need it for energy, as they would already possess sufficient resources. The distinction between a Dyson Sphere and a Dyson Swarm is noted, with the latter potentially being a more feasible early step in harnessing solar energy. The thread reflects on the implications of energy needs and technological advancements in the search for extraterrestrial life.

I think that cockroaches are extraterrestrial. Thats for sure. If you cut their head off, they died by inanition in a few days. That is horrible! And also they are intelligent, they leaves you in peace when they want, not when you want no matter you use poisson or not.

The best proof of extra terrestrial intelligence is that they never contacted us...

Energy shortage?

Any advanced alien civilization which had enough excess energy to build a 'Dyson Sphere' would certainly not need to build one to get more energy.

You may mistake a Dyson shell for a Dyson "swarm" of satellites. The later could start in the near future. One could argue that the first satellite using solar power were the first part of a Dyson "swarm".
