Need Help Building an Audio Amplifier with D2059 Transistors

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on building an audio amplifier using D2059 transistors and a TIP117 transistor. The user seeks a simple circuit diagram for an amplifier capable of 100 to 200 watts, powered by symmetrical sources ranging from 20V to 40V. Participants highlight the importance of understanding the specifications of the components, particularly noting that the D2059 transistors are medium power NPN and PNP transistors in TO-220 packages. Suggestions include searching for MOSFET audio amplifier designs for additional insights.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of audio amplifier design principles
  • Familiarity with D2059 and TIP117 transistor specifications
  • Knowledge of circuit assembly and soldering techniques
  • Basic electronics knowledge, including voltage and power ratings
NEXT STEPS
  • Research D2059 transistor datasheets for detailed specifications
  • Explore audio amplifier circuit designs using MOSFETs
  • Learn about power supply requirements for audio amplifiers
  • Investigate common amplifier configurations, such as push-pull and class AB
USEFUL FOR

Electronics enthusiasts, audio engineers, and hobbyists looking to build audio amplifiers using specific transistors like the D2059 and TIP117.

Good morning Thank you very much for being part of this forum. I have a concern. I have 4 D2059 transistors and I want to build an audio amplifier, but I don't have enough knowledge of electronics. And I have one more transistor tip117. Can anyone help me by sending a simple circuit diagram how to assemble this?

I also have a large number of MOSFET transistors of all kinds, but I can't build a sound amplifier with that.
I need simple schemes up to 200watt to 100wat. With normal and symmetrical sources up to 20v to 40V. It can be up to 35v too.

To put this in perspective, what you ask is like saying:
I have 4 wheels with tires, a steering wheel, and a radiator. Can some send me plans on how to build a car?

Btw, I didn't even look up what those part number actually are. For all I know attempting to use those parts would be the equivalent of putting square wheels on a car.

Welcome to PF.

Maybe try a Google Images search on mosfet audio amplifier to get some ideas...

I didn't either until just now. They are medium power 100V NPN and PNP transistors in TO-220 type packages:
