AI Thread Summary
An Indian student with a three-year BSc in Physics seeks guidance on pursuing a master's degree abroad, specifically in the UK. The discussion highlights that a three-year BSc is recognized in the UK, and achieving a good TOEFL or IELTS score is essential for admission into reputable universities. The student has a commendable academic record, with a 79% score, which is comparable to a first-class degree classification in the UK. While lacking prior research experience is noted, it is common for undergraduate students, as many only engage in final year projects. Proficiency in English is emphasized as a requirement for study in the UK, but the student's writing suggests they meet this criterion. Overall, the conversation offers reassurance and encouragement for the student's academic aspirations.

3 years BSc is pretty standard here in the UK.

OK! So now, i passed my BSc (physics) examination in april 2013 with a good 79%. With a good enough TOEFL/IELTS score will i get admission into a good university in the UK or are their any additional requirements. I have no previous research experience as such.

I don't know exactly how that translates into the degree classification that is used over here. But it sounds like you'd be pretty close to having a 1st.

Yes, you will need to show that you have a proficient level of English to study over here - But from the way that you're writing, I think that will be easy for you.

As for research, most undergrad students don't have any experience in research either apart from a final year project.

I hope it all goes well for you.

thank you!

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
