AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the issue of a user wanting to change their long account name, which is cumbersome to type. It is suggested that contacting an admin, specifically Greg Bernhardt, could facilitate a username change without needing to create a new account. The conversation highlights the complications that arise when users create multiple accounts instead of addressing the issue directly with the admins. There is a consensus that exceptions can be made for compelling reasons, but users should avoid frequent name changes. The aim is to resolve the situation by restoring the original account with a shorter username.

My account name is too long to type. I request to be banned.

Thank you!

I confirm.

If that's the only problem, if you contact Greg Bernhardt via PM, and ask very nicely, I'm sure he can help you change your username to something shorter.

Good thinking moonbear, he should be banned, i like your style.

Come to think of it, that would have been much easier. I seem to make things much more complicated then they need to be.

Oh, I see, you've already created a new username. Okay, I'll ban the other one...if I can spell it! If someone with a username really similar suddenly finds themself banned...

For future reference for anyone else...don't just create a new username! We don't want people changing their names left and right, but if you have a compelling reason, sometime an exception can be made, and the admins can do it for you without needing to create a new account.

I would have though Rachman would have been fine.

And why does one have to type one's username?

Just login forever, or cut and paste.

I've contacted Rach3 and Greg via PM. How this is ultimately solved now that there are multiple accounts created can be handled via PM. No need to continue the drama here. Hopefully the final solution will involve repairing his original account along with a shorter username.
