Greetings,

I'm a tinkerer, prototyper, tony starker... and I'm really interested in human-scale flying powered by flapping wings, or some alternative that works and is quiet...

Hi meloetta,

Welcome to the forum, before posting please read our guidelines so that you know what is allowed here (no personal theories, nothing that goes against mainstream science) and what we are about.

i'm not sure i understand how the flapping model of flying is against mainstream science
If you have acceptable mainstream sources that meet our guidelines that show that this is a mainstream accepted way of personal flight, then you may certainly post those sources and ask questions about them.

well it is a topic about ornithopters, quite mainstream for hobbyists. Just wondering if anyone also thought about scaling this up to be usable by you and me.

Hello fellow Physics enthusiasts, I am an aeronautical engineering graduate (Bachelor's) who is interested in Physics and Mathematics, and I have been re-learning all the basics. I wanted to join a science forum, especially one dedicated to Physics and maths, to apply these subjects to my engineering studies. I hope to learn a lot through this forum. Thank you for your warm welcome.
