SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the feasibility of using two Kawasaki Ninja 250R radiators to cool a Maruti Suzuki 800cc engine for the SUPRASAE 2012 competition. The original radiator has a heat dissipation capacity of 45.126 kW, while each Kawasaki radiator can dissipate approximately 23 kW. The proposed configuration must fit within a limited space of 200*300 mm, leading to the inquiry about whether to arrange the radiators in series or parallel for optimal performance.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of heat dissipation principles in automotive cooling systems
  • Familiarity with radiator specifications and performance metrics
  • Knowledge of coolant flow dynamics and velocity impacts
  • Experience with configuring multiple radiators in automotive applications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the thermal performance of Kawasaki Ninja 250R radiators
  • Explore the advantages and disadvantages of radiator configurations in series vs. parallel
  • Investigate coolant flow rate optimization techniques for enhanced cooling efficiency
  • Learn about the impact of radiator size and placement on overall engine cooling
USEFUL FOR

Automotive engineers, racing teams, and enthusiasts looking to optimize engine cooling solutions in constrained spaces.

I want to use 2 radiators instead of a single radiator for cooling a maruti suzuki 800cc engine. The reason? we are participating in SUPRASAE 2012 and our space for the radiator is limited(we can't accommodate the 300*335 mm radiators but we can accommodate two radiators within 200*300 mm). Can anyone please suggest?
Heat dissipation by the original radiator = 45.126 kW
Flow rate of coolant= 0.922 kg/s
Velocity of the coolant = 0.8 m/s
We were thinking of 2 kawasaki ninja 250R radiators each with a heat dissipation capacity of approx. 23 kW.
Also if 2 radiators are used, should they be in series or parallel?

i am too stuck in a similar situation..have u arrived at any conclusion yet?
& how did u decide the specification u stated..like the heat dissipation rate, coolant flow rate, speed..?:confused:
