An airplane was becoming more and more unstable. It got so bad that the steward got on the PA system and asked if there were any pilots on board to help the crew. An electrical engineer volunteered. He went to the front of the cabin, and then asked if there were any Polish people on the starboard side of the plane. One fellow raised his hand. The engineer asked him if he could move to the other side of the plane. After he did, the plane leveled out to smooth flight. The steward was amazed and asked how did the engineer do that. He explained it was very simple, really. Everybody knows that having a pole on the right hand side of the plane is unstable.
