AI Thread Summary
Wolfram Alpha (W|A) provides different answers when inputting units of measurement due to automatic conversions, such as Celsius to Kelvin. The discrepancy arises when using Celsius in calculations, where W|A interprets it as a temperature difference. Users noted that selecting the "Celsius degrees of temperature difference" option yields a similar result, but with slight rounding differences. The discussion highlights how W|A's handling of units can affect the final output. Understanding these nuances is crucial for accurate calculations.

Hi.
I can't figure out why W|A is giving me 2 different answers, when i put in units of measurement.

'cos when you put in the units of ºC, W|A automatically converted them to ºK before using them!

Interestingly, you get the same answer in the Celsius-units-included version if you click on the "Celsius degrees of temperature difference" option.

Well, almost the same answer: 19890 instead of 19894.1... I guess W|A goes into rounding mode when it sees units.

Hello! Let's say I have a cavity resonant at 10 GHz with a Q factor of 1000. Given the Lorentzian shape of the cavity, I can also drive the cavity at, say 100 MHz. Of course the response will be very very weak, but non-zero given that the Loretzian shape never really reaches zero. I am trying to understand how are the magnetic and electric field distributions of the field at 100 MHz relative to the ones at 10 GHz? In particular, if inside the cavity I have some structure, such as 2 plates...
