AI Thread Summary
Enrolling in a second master's degree before pursuing a PhD in theoretical physics is a viable option for enhancing physics and mathematical skills. There are no qualifications that would prevent someone from seeking a double master's, provided they have the time, financial resources, and motivation to do so. This approach can help strengthen the necessary foundation for advanced studies in theoretical physics.

Hello everyone!
Well, I am currently on the final year of four year undergraduate degree program in the UK which I will be graduate in June 2015 with Master of Science(astrophysics). However, I want to go for PHD in p theoretical physics and I feel I have to boost more physics and mathematical skills before proceeding to a PHD.

So my question is, is it possible to enroll for a 2nd master degree? or am I over qualified?

Thanks.

Nothing wrong w/ a double masters if you have the time / money / inclination.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
