In summary, Dr. Douglas Graham promotes a diet called 80/10/10, which consists of 80% of calories from sweet fruit, 10% from protein, and 10% from fat. The question of whether he is an internet crackpot or charlatan is raised, with the response that most diet promoters fall into one of these categories. The current guidelines for a balanced diet recommend a range of percentages for protein, fat, and carbohydrates, depending on factors such as age and activity level. These guidelines suggest a lower percentage of fruit intake than Graham's 80/10/10 diet.

I have never yet encountered ANYONE promoting a diet who was not either a crackpot (they believe what they are saying) or a charlatan (they believe they can make money by saying it).

Here are the current guidelines to a balanced diet. I can't imagine that 80% of sugary fruit would be wise.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet/NU00200 The percentages vary depending on age, activity, etc...

The recommendation is

Protein: 10-35%

Fat: 20-35%

Carbohydrates: 45-65%
