Facts I need to learn in Physics besides the formula

AI Thread Summary
Understanding free fall, acceleration, and friction is essential in physics, particularly how heavier objects experience greater friction. It's important to note that an object can have zero velocity while still experiencing non-zero acceleration, which can be counterintuitive. For deeper learning, exploring the derivation of relevant formulas can enhance comprehension. Online resources like Khan Academy offer valuable, free educational material for those unable to access textbooks or classes. Engaging with these concepts will provide a solid foundation in physics and its applications.

Homework Statement

I would want to know how free fall, acceleration and friction works ?
I mean it like there is a greater friction when an object is heavier
or an object is possible to have zero velocity but nonzero accelaration.
I need those kinds of things to study :D

Homework Equations

If there is like the derivation of the formulas :D

The Attempt at a Solution

Actually this question is really in general and i would want to learn more about physics, its effect and the applications. Please help me :D tnx in advance guys

Physics news on Phys.org
if it isn't possible for you to take classes on this stuff and you don't have the ability to go out and buy yourself an introductory physics textbook, I would suggest going to khanacademy.org for a great, free online source of learning material related to physics, and a whole lot more

Thread 'Collision of a bullet on a rod-string system: query'
In this question, I have a question. I am NOT trying to solve it, but it is just a conceptual question. Consider the point on the rod, which connects the string and the rod. My question: just before and after the collision, is ANGULAR momentum CONSERVED about this point? Lets call the point which connects the string and rod as P. Why am I asking this? : it is clear from the scenario that the point of concern, which connects the string and the rod, moves in a circular path due to the string...
