In summary, the author of the article believes that the AMD 64-bit processor falls flat on its face. The reviewer has extensively played with the AMD 16-bit win311 on a PII-450MHz and found that it runs fast, but still takes longer to load web pages and is more prone to skip during playback of mp3 files than, for example, the 32-bit win9x versions run on the same machine. Based on this, the author thinks that once all the support is in place for a 64-bit OS, it should be an improvement over a 32-bit OS.

Actualy I use Redhat. I've been using it since version 4.2 (May 1997). I've just recently gotten into debian and like the fact that it is very pure.

I usually get my info from mailing lists and newsgroups. I'm sometimes on the kde irc channel. I do quite a bit of development under kdevelop. I've recently been doing some web development with php on my apache webserver. I'm also part of the linux user group.
