Schools Graduate School Research Expenditures by Sub-Field

AI Thread Summary
A user is seeking a centralized source for physics graduate school research expenditures, specifically broken down by sub-fields such as nuclear, condensed matter, AMO, and HEP, to evaluate school specializations. They found a general total expenditure source at Peterson's but require more detailed data. Another user recommends Gradschoolshopper.com, which provides the desired departmental profiles and data sourced from AIS. They highlight the importance of accessing the PDF version of the full department breakdown for comprehensive insights, noting that it was previously available in book form.

I am looking for a central source of physics graduate school research expenditures, broken down by sub-field (nuclear, condensed matter, AMO, HEP, etc.). I can find the total amount spent here

http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools

but I am not sure where to go for this kind of specificity. This is going to be a rough guide to what each school specializes in as I evaluate grad schools.

Thanks

That's the one I used when I was looking. It was in book form back then.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
