AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around boredom and the nature of thread content in a forum. Participants express their lack of interest in replying to emails and share a sense of ennui. There is a playful critique of the thread title's punctuation, with one user demanding an increase from five to seven dots. The conversation highlights the distinction between fun threads and spam, with some users arguing that much of the content in the General Discussion (GD) section is trivial. The topic shifts to technical issues with LaTeX, specifically the display of Greek letters, where users note that not all symbols render correctly, and some uppercase Greek letters correspond to standard English letters. Overall, the thread balances lighthearted banter with technical discussions, reflecting a mix of entertainment and frustration.

Myself, I object to this thread's having five dots as its title. I refuse to do any further posting until this is increased to seven dots.

Maybe bandwidth can be saved by making credible threads in the lounge, rather than this almight mess.

but this is more entertaining than credible threads. That's what the other sections are for.

Yes, you can't deep-fry a fun thread and eat it on a sandwich.

Everything, well almost everything, in GD is spam. Half the time I do not even think about what I am posting in here

That's odd. When I look at the tex code you used, the names of all the Greek letters are there, but the symbols don't all show up.

LaTeX does not have upper case characters for all the Greek letters. Mostly, I think, because the uppercase characters for alpha, beta, epsilon, eta, iota, (and others such) are simply the uppercase English letters A, B, E, H, I, ...
