AI Thread Summary
Oregon has officially recognized domestic partnerships, granting legal status to gay unions. This change follows a significant shift in political power away from Republicans, influenced by public dissatisfaction with the Bush administration and Republican congressional control. The discussion highlights the irony for right-wing supporters of conservative agendas, suggesting that electing Democrats may be necessary to uphold their values, particularly regarding issues like banning gay marriage. The tone conveys a sense of amusement at the challenges this presents for conservative groups such as the Moral Majority.

Today Oregon recognized domestic partnerships - gay unions - as a legal entity. This resulted from a large swing away from Republican control last election, which can be attributed directly [in part] to dissatisfaction with the Bush administration and Republican control in Congress. So here is the message right-wingers: If you really support conservative agendas like that of banning gay marriage, elect Democrats to federal office. o:)

Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
