AI Thread Summary
A photon is described as a quantized packet of electromagnetic energy. It exhibits properties of both waves and particles, depending on its interaction with matter. When light travels, it behaves like rays, but when it encounters obstacles, it is explained through particle theory. This duality is fundamental to understanding light and its behavior in various contexts. Overall, photons are essential components of electromagnetic radiation.

In laymans terms, How would you describe what a photon is?[?]

I would probably describe it as a Quanta (package) of electromagentic energy.

Thank-you Jimmy

thats ok...as long as you ignore the spelling of 'electromagnetic'

Okay here is another ver.

When a light travels it has properties of rays and whenever it interacts with some obstructions etc we explain it with particle theory of light i.e. photons
