Since we're arguing over semantics anyways and nobody's actually failing to understand the other, how can a post contain a channel? How can tribdog be a link? How can you post a channel?

Look at this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/tribdog

Do you see the word "channel" anywhere? Yes!

When you write something in a thread, and hit the "reply" button. That is called a post. You made a post that contained a youtube channel. Therefore, following logic, you are the channel poster and tribdog is the link of the youtube user channel you posted

Got it?

So, let me get this straight. If I posted a picture of Farrah Fawcett, that makes me a Farrah Fawcett poster?

farrah-fawcett-poster.jpg

Ha ha. No, seriously. You are totally wrong MotoH.

Of course it does, Dave. You provided the link, thus, YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR!
...apparently in some minds, that is...

I'm a Farrah Fawcett poster? In that case, I fold, spindle and mutilate myself...

(What's a poster got to do around here to get a thread locked??)

Mash the "report" button and give a really, really, really good reason? Just a guess. But there it is.

Dave, no need to get this thread locked. It's much too humorous.
Can't believe that I(and you) can post a link and have it "author-twisted" as much as it has done here.

Good one MotoH! Seriously! I love it!

But, your still wrong...

he "posted" (aka linked) a channel, thus he's a channel poster (using the literal meaning of posted) common now, that took me 5 seconds to figure out

Yeah, pretty sad, huh?
I do a simple Google search to help someone FIND someone and I get blasted with all kinds of weird stuff from many people(except Dave and other's) Humor aside of course...

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think he is an imposter.

What I find interesting is that almost every thread tribdog started was sooner or later locked and tribdog banned. Seems like it doesn't take tribdog in person for the thread to become a risky one, it is enough to mention his name.

Yeah I got it at first glance too. It was kinda funny.

It's not the same as the 'farah fawecett' attempt. That's not funny at all. What made MotoH's comment funny was that he was saying that tribdog was the Channel Poster and he was saying YOUR the channel poster so that means YOUR him.

No one made any comments about farah fawcett which would make it remotely funny to say that you are her poster, that's just stupid. I'm not sure if Dave is just trying to be sarcastic to rub it in pallidins face that he didn't understand Moto's joke or what. It makes no sense to be making jokes bout being a Farrah Fawcett poster though. Sorry.

I got a more epic one, but it has some rather profane language:

I always hope Tribs ok, he is a interesting human.

Meanwhile, just you may want tp visit his profile, hit the tab "contact info" and send him a mail.

From his intermittent posts it appears that he slowly lost interest in PF. Happens more often I guess. But he still has 10 more posts to go for 20 x pi.

If you were a guy who was sentient in the 1970's, the Farrah Fawcett poster reference is hilarious. Once again, DaveC has lived up to his billing as PF Funniest Member.

Got it?

It is technically a link. He hit the "reply" button and posted a link. When one clicks on the link, one is then taken to a channel, which exists in another domain. You are choosing to call the link a channel, when it is clearly a link to a channel.

So if we want to be extremely precise, he posted a link to a YouTube channel. A YouTube channel is the page that is viewed only once a link has been followed. So a link and a channel are not the same thing, otherwise when one sees a link, one sees exactly what one would see in the channel.

* * *

Just to be mischievous, if one were to post a comment in tribdog's channel, would one then not be considered a channel poster? As in, one who posts in a channel?

They are called User channels. Not Poster channels. That was my main point.
