Internship for inexperienced students?

AI Thread Summary
A high school junior is preparing to take the CHSPE for early college entry and seeks internship opportunities to gain experience, even in unrelated fields like bookkeeping. The discussion highlights that organizations such as NASA and national labs like Fermi and Los Alamos offer internships for high school students. However, there is uncertainty about eligibility for two-year college internships since the student will not officially be enrolled until the fall. The focus remains on finding any available internships that provide valuable experience in preparation for a future career in cosmology.

Hello. I'm a Junior in Highschool and will be taking the CHSPE for early entry to begin a 2 year college in the fall. Are there any possible internships that someone with my (lack of) experience would be able to apply for? It could be book keeping or something nearly irrelevant so long as I'm working for a business that will give me experience in the field (even a small amount or from a distance.) there didn't seem to be a better forum to post this in. Also, my goal is to become a cosmologist.Sent from my iPhone using Physics Forums

I know that NASA and some national labs (Fermi, Los Alamos) have internships for those who are still in high school. Many of them also have internships designed for people in two-year colleges, however I'm not sure that you would qualify since you will not be a student until the fall.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
