SUMMARY

ANSYS can be challenging for beginners due to the limited availability of comprehensive resources. Users have noted that while there are some project tutorials on college websites, they are often temporary. A recommended resource for beginners is the step-by-step guide by Kent Lawrence, which is available for purchase on Amazon. Additionally, the official ANSYS academic resources page provides valuable documentation and theory references for users seeking to deepen their understanding of the software.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation concepts
  • Access to ANSYS software (latest version recommended)
  • Ability to navigate online academic resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the official ANSYS academic resources page for documentation
  • Purchase and study Kent Lawrence's beginner's guide to ANSYS
  • Review the overall ANSYS theory documentation for foundational knowledge
  • Search for additional project tutorials on university websites
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for engineering students, simulation analysts, and professionals seeking to learn ANSYS for their projects or academic purposes.

There isn't much out there. You can find the odd project tutorial on different college web sites, but they don't usually stay up too long (in my experience). http://mae.uta.edu/~lawrence/ansys/ansys_examples.htm

There's a pretty good beginner's step-by-step by Kent Lawrence that is inexpensive:
