AI Thread Summary
Upgrading to a PC or notebook with a 65nm Dual Core 64-bit processor is advisable if the upgrade is not urgent, as it offers significant improvements for running Windows Vista. While Windows Vista can operate on current generation PCs, users will miss out on enhanced visual features. The effectiveness of a dual core processor in improving performance depends on whether applications are multi-threaded; if they are not, users may not experience any performance gains.

Windows Vista will run on current generation PCs, but you won't get all the eye candy.

Do you think a dual core processor will improve the type of stuff you do? You must remember that in order to take advantage of the dual cores you application must be multi-threaded. If it isn't you won't see any improvement.

I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
