How did you find PF?
Just googled something, and was surprised my college wifi didn't block this.
Is this kind of like Reddit? Except with way fewer people? Whelp, I'm just going to introduce myself, because the email said to. I'm Tara, and I'm a physics undergrad. Nice to meet you. How are you doing on this pleasant day/night? I'm doing fine, thank you. And the kids? Oh, how nice. Well, I'd better get going, but I'm glad I could talk to you! What? Yes, I live just down the street. Goodbye! I hope that was a sufficient introduction.

Welcome to PhysicsForums.

I don't know much about Reddit, but I'm fairly sure we are different. We enjoy discussing mainstream science and helping students to learn (by giving hints on their homework questions). There is also the non-technical "Lounge" area of PF with some fun threads. Enjoy!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
