Is Supporting a Science Website Worth the Cost?

I joined a few minutes ago and i found this site very interesting. There are a lot of interesting threads regarding physics and other sciences. I just don't understand payment methods here, why should anyone pay to use a science related website

To support the website so that it doesn't shut down. It costs a lot of money to run this site, and in return for helping to keep the website running, you get a number of "perks" in thanks.
