AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the relationship between average kinetic energy and kinetic energy in the context of ideal gases. It highlights that for an ideal gas, the average kinetic energy is expressed as 3/2 k T, where k is Boltzmann's constant. The user seeks clarification on whether average kinetic energy is equivalent to kinetic energy. The connection to the ideal gas law, PV=RT, is also mentioned in relation to deriving the equation from kinetic energy principles. Understanding this relationship is crucial for grasping gas behavior in thermodynamics.

Hello:smile:
from p= \frac{1}{3} nmv^{2} find the noble Gaz equation PV=RT for one mole of gaz.
thanks.

It might help you to know that for an ideal gas, the average kinetic energy is 3/2 k T, where k is Boltzmann's constant.

the AVERAGE kinetic energy is it the same as the Kinetic energy ?
thanks.

Hello! Let's say I have a cavity resonant at 10 GHz with a Q factor of 1000. Given the Lorentzian shape of the cavity, I can also drive the cavity at, say 100 MHz. Of course the response will be very very weak, but non-zero given that the Loretzian shape never really reaches zero. I am trying to understand how are the magnetic and electric field distributions of the field at 100 MHz relative to the ones at 10 GHz? In particular, if inside the cavity I have some structure, such as 2 plates...
