I know it shouldn't work , but has an independent test ever been done to disprove johnsons claims. Is he a crackpot.

You have it backwards: his claims on their own hold no weight. Independent tests are required to confirm his results, not disprove them. Even worse, there isn't anything to confirm or contradict: he hasn't demonstrated anything yet.
