LaTeX Latex Symbols | Forum Posting Guide

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on how to use LaTeX style symbols when posting in threads. Users are provided with examples of inline and centered LaTeX formatting, such as F_{\mu\nu}=\partial_\mu A_\nu - \partial_\nu A_\mu for inline and R_{\mu\nu}-\frac{1}{2}g_{\mu\nu}R=\frac{8\pi G}{c^4}T_{\mu\nu} for centered equations. A link to further information about LaTeX usage on the platform is shared. The conversation also touches on the process of closing the thread, with a suggestion that it may not be necessary unless irrelevant discussions arise, as the thread will naturally become inactive over time.

How can I type in latex style symbols when I am adding new posts to my threads

Physics news on Phys.org
You can quote my post to see how you can add latex. In line latex: F_{\mu\nu}=\partial_\mu A_\nu - \partial_\nu A_\mu

And centered latex:

R_{\mu\nu}-\frac{1}{2}g_{\mu\nu}R=\frac{8\pi G}{c^4}T_{\mu\nu}

Ok you have all helped well. I will close thread. How do I close the thread?

No need to close it, unless other people start jumping in and arguing about something irrelevant, or doing something else that breaks our rules. After a few days it will "fall off the bottom of the page" naturally.
