AI Thread Summary
Many users are exploring Maya but find the learning curve steep, especially when tutorials assume prior modeling knowledge. The challenge of switching between the work field and tutorial screens is a common frustration. Beginners are encouraged to focus on basic shapes like cubes, cylinders, and spheres to build foundational skills. Suggestions for improving the learning experience include using dual monitors for easier navigation and considering books for more structured guidance.

Have any of you tried to goober around with Maya before? I've been trying my hand at it lately and am learning a little (very little). Its kind of hard clicking back and forth between the work field and the tutorial screen. All the online tutorials seem to assume that you already have a firm grip on modeling and start with applications to add to an existing project. I've been playing with cubes, cylinders, and spheres but just the very basic stuff. Any tips or suggestions?

Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
