AI Thread Summary
Advanced materials beyond Duratherm 477 and MP35N are being sought for a pin application due to bending issues. Recommendations include consulting the manufacturer's catalog or competitors for alternatives with better properties. A focus on materials with higher modulus or yield strength is suggested. Exploring ready-made options may also provide a suitable solution. Finding the right material could enhance performance in the assembly.

Hi,

Can anyone please let me know the list of materials that are advanced than Duratherm 477 or MP35N?

I have a small pin which should be made up of Duratherm or MP35N for a particular application. But the pin is bending when it is used in a assembly. There are lot of other reasons why it is bending but we came to a conclusion to change the material of the pin. So is there any nearest material which has slightly good or higher properties than these 2 materials?

Any other suggestions also will be of great help.

Thanks in advance for any help on this regards.

Welcome to the forum.

Can you get a catalog from the maker of the material you are using? Or possibly a competitor of that maker. Maybe Google is your friend here. Usually the maker of such material will have a range of materials with different properties. And you can look this up in the catalog. They will also likely have a range of shapes and sizes of objects. Maybe they have exactly the object you need as a standard item. You might be able to order it ready-made.

sounds like you want a higher modulus material, or at least a higher yield strength.
