AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on the need for a Microsoft Word template suitable for formatting an academic paper for a conference, specifically one that supports a two-column layout while keeping the title, subtitle, and author information centered at the top. Participants suggest using LaTeX instead of Word for this purpose, citing its advantages in handling complex formatting, including the placement of graphs and images in a two-column format. A link to a relevant LaTeX submission guide is provided as a resource for proper formatting.

Hi guys I am tasked with reformatting a paper for an academic conference and I would like a nice MS word template for academic journal articles (2-column, I have graphs as well.)

Can anyone enlighten me on how to have 2 columns for the paper, but basically keep the title/subtitle/author centered at the top. Also how do I place graphs/images in the center of the page when I have 2-column mode turned on?

Thank you

IMHO, it's a good idea to use latex for this instead of MSword.

Try this

Also, I agree with the latex comment
