AI Thread Summary
For beginners in MATLAB who already have programming experience, several resources are recommended. The MathWorks website offers a comprehensive student center with various tutorials and links to MATLAB books, which can be found at http://www.mathworks.com/academia/student_center/tutorials/launchpad.html. Additionally, an online tutorial in PDF format is highlighted as particularly useful, available at http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/pdf_doc/matlab/getstart.pdf. This manual contains numerous tutorials and detailed API information, making it a valuable resource for new users.

The manual? Seriously, it's got lots of tutorials and most of the API and is actually really good in its own way.
