AI Thread Summary
Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee performed the Heimlich maneuver on Robert Pittenger, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, potentially saving his life during a lunch at the North Carolina Republican Party convention. This incident highlights Huckabee's quick response in a critical situation. Additionally, a separate mention of a false alarm regarding Hillary Clinton's threat to use the Corbomite Maneuver adds an intriguing layer to the discussion. The conversation also touches on the past connection between Bill Frist and David Petraeus, noting that Frist, an army surgeon, saved Petraeus’s life after he was accidentally shot during a training drill.

State GOP spokesman Brent Woodcox says the former Arkansas governor did the Heimlich maneuver on Robert Pittenger, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, at a lunch before Huckabee gave his speech Saturday.[continued]

It was reported that Hillary recently threatened to use the Corbomite Maneuver, but that was apparently a false alarm.

I read an article about a year ago that said Bill Frist and David Petraeus first met way back when Petraeus was still a Captain running training drills and Frist was an army surgeon. Petraeus was accidentally shot during a drill and it was Frist that operated on him and saved his life.

Thought that was pretty interesting.
