AI Thread Summary
To calculate a running total in Excel that adjusts weekly based on added or subtracted amounts, users can utilize a simple formula. The process involves creating a formula in a new column that sums the previous total with the new amount. For instance, if the previous total is in one cell and the new amount to add or subtract is in an adjacent cell, the formula would look like this: =previous_total_cell + new_amount_cell. This method allows for continuous updates to the total, reflecting changes in deposits or expenditures throughout the year.

Which do I find the excel function for additional amount up every week?

For example: $100 + $50 = $150 last week then add new $50 this week total is $200 to keep the amount up every week. It should work either + /- amount

Thank you.

I'm not completely sure what you are trying to do.

Me neither. It sort of sounds like you want a running total, but that's just a matter of adding an equation in the next colum that adds the number above (previous total) to the number to the left (the next new number to add). It's a pretty simple thing.

Excel Function

That is correct, the similar like the bank amount sub(-) to spend or sum(+) to deposit...amount keep running total up and down everyday all year. I thought the function can work.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
