AI Thread Summary
The user seeks software alternatives to Origin for calculating slopes at various points on a curve, specifically at x=0, as the current plugin only provides limited precision. They have achieved a high R-squared value of 0.98 with Origin's fitting options. A suggestion is made to differentiate the data within Origin to obtain a function of slopes at each point. Additionally, the discussion recommends exploring more advanced software options like MATLAB, Octave, or Mathematica for improved calculations. These tools may offer greater flexibility and precision for the user's needs.

Hi
I am currently using origin to plot my data and using their fitting options I am able to get r square .98. Now I need to know slope at different positions of the curve even at x= 0. I tried one of their plugin and it gives me only three decimal point and which is not good enough.

Could you please suggest some software like origin to make my calculation easily.

Thank you.
MD

erk - Origin is spreadsheety ... you can probably use Origin for this if you differentiate it. That will give you a sampled function of the slopes of the tangent at each measured point.

You are urged to learn something more matrixy like matlab, octave, or mathematica.
