AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the influence of a neoconservative group, often referred to as the "War Party," in promoting military interventions that are argued to be against America's best interests. Patrick J. Buchanan highlights the exposure of this group's motives and affiliations, particularly through a notable exchange between journalist Tim Russert and Richard Perle regarding the motivations behind the U.S. actions against Saddam Hussein and their connections to Israel. The conversation reflects skepticism about the transparency of the neoconservative agenda, with participants questioning the legitimacy of these motives and the implications for U.S. foreign policy. The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) is mentioned as a key player in articulating these strategies, raising concerns about the alignment of their published plans with the actions of the Bush administration.

A neoconservative clique seeks to ensnare our country in a series of wars that are not in America’s interest.

by Patrick J. Buchanan

The War Party may have gotten its war. But it has also gotten something it did not bargain for. Its membership lists and associations have been exposed and its motives challenged. In a rare moment in U.S. journalism, Tim Russert put this question directly to Richard Perle: “Can you assure American viewers ... that we’re in this situation against Saddam Hussein and his removal for American security interests? And what would be the link in terms of Israel?”

Do you find it interesting? If so, why? What are your thoughts on the matter? What is your opinion? Can you substantiate your opinion?

I personally think it is obvious what is going on. And, of course, you can't cry "conspiracy theory" when they(the PNAC, which pretty much is the Bush administration) publish their exact plans and worldview in print and online.

Just ONCE, I wanted to see a post titled Status Update that was not a blatant, annoying spam post by a new member. So here it is. Today was a good day here in Northern Wisconsin. Fall colors are here, no mosquitos, no deer flies, and mild temperature, so my morning run was unusually nice. Only two meetings today, and both went well. The deer that was road killed just down the road two weeks ago is now fully decomposed, so no more smell. Somebody has a spike buck skull for their...
