The discussion centers on astrophotography techniques used to capture the North American nebula from western Canada in July 2016. The user employed a Modded Canon 550D with an 80mm doublet telescope for a single 300-second exposure due to difficulties in stacking multiple subs. While initially using Deep Sky Stacker (DSS) for image stacking, the user transitioned to Nebulosity for processing, highlighting that DSS is effective for stacking but not recommended for post-processing.
PREREQUISITESAstrophotographers, hobbyists capturing celestial objects, and anyone interested in improving their image stacking and processing skills in astrophotography.
