B Perceiving Higher Dimensions: Understanding the Unknown

AI Thread Summary
Perception of higher dimensions may be limited by evolutionary factors, as there is no clear advantage to perceiving them. Some argue that individuals might already experience higher dimensions without recognizing it, interpreting these experiences as part of normal three-dimensional life. The discussion suggests that if higher dimensions influence fundamental forces, such as gravity, then their effects are indirectly perceived. This raises questions about the nature of reality and our understanding of the universe. Ultimately, the ability to perceive higher dimensions remains a complex and unresolved topic.

What dimensions do you have in mind?

Because it is of no evolutionary advantage.

If higher dimensions do exist, are you sure that you are not perceiving them? Maybe, having been born in a universe with higher dimensions, you do perceive them but simply assume that what you are experiencing is part of the normal hustle and bustle of 3 spatial dimensional life. For example, if higher dimensions are responsible for gravity being so much weaker than the other forces, then you do perceive higher dimensions - or at least, you can feel their presence by nature of the fact you are not crushed into degenerate matter.
