AI Thread Summary
The PF server experienced significant slowdowns and database error timeouts starting around 2 PM PST on February 8, likely due to a surge in online users, with a record of 2,261 set the previous day. By 3 PM, the situation showed signs of improvement, although occasional database errors persisted. Autolinking to the PF Library was disabled temporarily to alleviate server strain. The server's performance issues appear to have been resolved, and autolinking will be re-enabled once stability is confirmed. Overall, the discussion highlights the impact of high user traffic on server performance and the measures taken to manage it.

PF Server Slow -- Sunday 8-Feb 2PM PST

Starting at about 2PM today, the PF server has been very slow, including some Database Error timeouts. Seems to be improving a bit (3PM), but still may require a server re-boot.

FYI.

Wonder if its something to do with a new record being set for the number of users online?

looking into it, seems guests are hitting the site pretty hard today

I'm still getting occassional db errors when clicking on a link to most of the forums.

And PF is loading slowly, even after clean files/cache etc.

Whatever was wrong, it seems resolved now...thanks, Greg!

We did set a new record yesterday.
Record: 2,261 @ Y

autolinking

Autolinking (to the PF Library) is not working.

Has it been turned off to help the server?

yeah I turn it off if the server is hurting, I'll put it back on when we have some stability back
