AI Thread Summary
To address the issue of noisy laptop keys, particularly on the Dell 4150, several solutions are suggested. Replacing the laptop's keyboard with a quieter model is one option, and contacting Dell for a possible replacement is recommended. Alternatively, using an external flexible keyboard can provide a quieter typing experience. The discussion emphasizes that simple suggestions like typing quieter or using glue are not practical solutions for the rattling noise.

Anyone know of a way of quietening the keys on a laptop? When I type on my Dell 4150, each key sort of rattles. It attracts the attention of people nearby. This is not a software "beep" - I am talking about the physical rattling of the keypess.

Yesyesyes, I'll head off the obvious answers:
 type quieter
 fill the gaps between keys on your kb with Crazy Glue
 don't use your laptop in public

Some manufacture can replaice the keyboard if u want. U might want to ask Dell about this before u throw it away?

The other solution is buy another external keyboard like flexible keyboard.

Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
