I had a visitor one day in my $50 poly solarium over patio awning during the winter. It is sealed from snow and rain but there is a small exit for my dog which this Blue Jay discovered (near Toronto like the baseball team). It took about 10 minutes for him to find the exit. It wasn't interested in the multi-grain bread pc on the table that I tossed in nor the cast-iron rusty cat.

I think they are gorgeous birds.

They are gorgeous. The plumage is quite Thrush like but I am not an expert.
You have anything nice @Astranut ?

When I retire I would like one these guys. Read up on them first.

I've thought about that too. Or some other bird.
But in my case I have feeling it won't be good to combine them with cats, and I'll probably have cats all my life, since I enjoy them very much.

Parrots, as far as I understand, bond strongly with their owner and consider them a mate. Which means they can get jealous.

By the way, I've discovered that cats can get jealous too.
Sometimes when one of my female cats is lying on my chest, the other female cat tries to get in between the other cat and my head. Competition for attention.

I didn't pay attention to the actual color when I was there.
Maybe it looks dark blue on that photo due to partial transparency of the flag (i.e. the light from the blue background sky comes partly through, just a guess), and/or I did something weird when I edited in Photoshop .

Here's another photo with four of the flags from another angle:

It looks at least to me like the flags are partially transparent.

When you make a bunch of photos of a noisy hole on a tree, some of them are bound to be lucky, right?

This harmless looking plant has quite an epic name: might be translated as 'scythe-bane', I think...
