Hmm, my neighbor is from there. Does she count?
It will take her a lot of time if she does. Let the Census people take care of it better.
But, yes, maybe just those with Philippino nationality.

After getting repeated blank stares when talking about a comedian " Carrot Cake", I realized his name was " Carrot Top".

Technically, vocal fry should be called "vocal f*rt" or even "oral f*rt". Same physics going on.

There are so many funny images on the internet that I cannot post here because someone might feel offended. And I realized that Europeans laugh about things Americans would find insulting.

And, no @berkeman, I don't mean the one I was asking you about. I have two more.

Clubber Lang* is down for the count. Evidence suggests a failed AIO CPU cooler pump. I've ordered another CPU cooler but it's on backorder. :frown: In the mean time, I'll be using Jack Torrance* to check PF.

*(Clubber Lang and Jack Torrance are the names of a couple of my computers. Clubber Lang is my main computer I use for most things. Jack Torrance is for writing.)

I remember how I was shocked a few years back when a pair of friends, a couple, gave me a Valentine Day card. Later that day I was told it was also offered to express appreciation for a friendship. Phew.

Wonder if Chinese owned cars at the same rate as the US , which would imply a total of around 1.5 billion cars, if it's highway system could handle that, at least at its peak.

Google is my friend: In 2023, there were about 329.1 million motor vehicles in China, according to the Bureau of Statistics. Passenger cars accounted for the largest share, with around 294 million. But it looks like an exponential curve:

In China, with a population of around 1.4 billion, more than 25 million new cars were registered last year - more than ever before.

Edit:Thanks, but my question was _ if _ they owned cars at the same rate, which is more than 100%, but we obviously consider just the 100% bound, totaling 1.4 billion cars, though likely only around 1.15 billion people with licenses (e.g., excluding those up to 18 years of age).
Then, at s circulation peak, that could total around 1.1 to 1.2 billion cars in circulation at some point.

Still reading conflicting evidence on whether a person's name affects their choice of career. I will dutifully use the Law of Small Numbers and ask @DennisN if he's a dentist, as suggested in a serious-seeming site.

They advertise Italian spaghetti. They say: "Experience the Italian way of living!"

Fact is, they play music from Carmen. Composed by a Frenchman and set in Spain. Someone should urgently tell them that Bizet is not Verdi and Sevilla not in Italy.

They're too Bizet to pay attention.

I mean, Italians do watch plays that aren't Italian...

It might be a little too on-the-nose if I went into a Canadian cuisine restaurant that boasted I'd "Experience the Canadian way of living!" and all they played were "Take Off!" by Bob & Doug McKenzie and Geddy Lee and NFB's "The Log Driver's Waltz".
