SUMMARY

The design of electrical systems for buildings is a critical field, with the "National Electric Code" (NEC) serving as the primary reference in the United States. Professionals in this area should also familiarize themselves with building automation networks, particularly as "smart buildings" gain popularity for their energy efficiency. Understanding both the NEC and automation technologies is essential for anyone looking to excel in electrical system design.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Basic concepts of electrical systems design
  • Knowledge of building automation networks
  • Understanding of smart building technologies
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the National Electric Code (NEC) in detail
  • Research building automation systems and their components
  • Explore smart building technologies and energy efficiency practices
  • Read books on electrical system design for buildings
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineers, building designers, and anyone interested in advancing their knowledge of electrical systems for buildings, particularly in the context of smart technologies and energy efficiency.

Hi everyone! Design of electrical systems for buildings is the field I want to engage in the future. I have already basic concepts learned about this. But I want to improve myself in this field. I am looking for a reliable and organized reference. Please help me choose the book/reference I should study.

Welcome to the PF.

In the United States, the reference is the "National Electric Code":

What country are you in? Also, in recent years, "smart buildings" have become much more popular, especially for the energy savings. You may need to learn a bit about building automation networks in addition to learning the NEC.

Thank you berkeman
