AI Thread Summary
Removing an old thread from a discussion forum is generally not permitted, as it contradicts the forum's purpose. Users can request thread removal by privately messaging a moderator or admin to explain their reasoning. The request for justification can be made confidentially to avoid public discussion. Moderators are open to hearing individual concerns regarding thread removal. Ultimately, the forum's policies prioritize the integrity of discussions over individual requests for deletion.

Would you mind if I PM you or another admin the reason? I feel my request is justifiable; however, I'd rather not give justification in a "public" manner. I kindly ask someone to hear me out.

I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
