Settings for Different Devices?

AI Thread Summary
Settings in "My Pf" are not uniform across devices, meaning adjustments made on one device do not automatically apply to others. For example, enabling notifications on a phone does not enable them on a PC. Push notifications are typically managed at the application or operating system level, with no known support for PCs. Users have reported that push notifications work on Windows 10, but only Android devices support them, as Apple restricts browser-based notifications. Overall, while some account settings remain consistent across devices, notification settings require individual configuration.

Hi all,
Just curious as to whether settings in "My Pf" are uniform across devices or are set separately for each.
Specifically, I view PF on my PC sometimes, others on my phone. If I were, e.g., to enable notifications on
my phone, would that result in notifications enabled in my PC?

Never heard of push notification on PC, but from what Greg says, if you enable them on your phone, they'll not be enabled implicitly for your PC. But most other settings under user account will remain same across devices.

I have them working on my Windows 10. For mobile FYI they only work with an Andriod phone. Apple forbids push notifications via browser.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
