AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around a user seeking help to identify a DOS game from their childhood, played around 1993-1994. The game features a boat at the start, with the objective of finding underwater treasure while navigating dangers like sharks and oxygen depletion. The gameplay involves moving left and right, with a screen transition similar to "Prince of Persia." The user mentions a potential match, "Sea Rogue," found on eBay, which aligns with their memories of the game. They express disappointment over the lack of video content available for it on YouTube.

Hi guys!
When I was about 6-7 years old (around 1993-1994), I used to play to some DOS games in my aunt's house. I've sucessfully recovered the names of some of them (like the sleepwalker) but I'm stuck at finding the name of one of them that I liked.
All I remember is that at start we are on a boat and the goal is to find a threasure underwater. We had 3 lives. We could lose a life by some shark and probably other creatures in the ocean and maybe by lack of oxygen.
The view was: at top of the screen was the separation between air and water and the further toward the bottom of the screen, the deeper into the ocean.
We could go left and right and then the whole screen would change in a similar way than in Prince of Persia game (DOS) and also probably if we went deep into the ocean too but I'm not 100% sure.
Does this sound familiar to any of you?
Thank you.

Thank you very much. After reading the description, it definitely looks like it was the game I was looking for. Too bad there's no video of it on youtube though!

Similar to the 2024 thread, here I start the 2025 thread. As always it is getting increasingly difficult to predict, so I will make a list based on other article predictions. You can also leave your prediction here. Here are the predictions of 2024 that did not make it: Peter Shor, David Deutsch and all the rest of the quantum computing community (various sources) Pablo Jarrillo Herrero, Allan McDonald and Rafi Bistritzer for magic angle in twisted graphene (various sources) Christoph...
Thread 'My experience as a hostage'
I believe it was the summer of 2001 that I made a trip to Peru for my work. I was a private contractor doing automation engineering and programming for various companies, including Frito Lay. Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
