if you drop a spring that is elongated via its only weight (slinky) vs another spring that is on its side... will both hit the ground at the same time?

If the centers of mass start at equal heights and at rest, they keep equal heights during fall. Ignoring air resistance.

I have recently been really interested in the derivation of Hamiltons Principle. On my research I found that with the term ##m \cdot \frac{d}{dt} (\frac{dr}{dt} \cdot \delta r) = 0## (1) one may derivate ##\delta \int (T - V) dt = 0## (2).
