What Is the Probability a Woman Over 25 Does Not Have a Bachelor's Degree?

AI Thread Summary
The probability that a woman over 25 does not have a bachelor's degree is calculated by subtracting the probability of having one from 1. Given that there is a 0.218 probability that she has a bachelor's degree, the probability that she does not have one is 0.782. This calculation relies on the principle that the two events are mutually exclusive. Understanding this concept is crucial for accurate probability assessments. Therefore, the likelihood of a woman over 25 lacking a bachelor's degree is 78.2%.

based on the data from the census bureau, when a woman over the age of 25 is randomly selected, there is a 0.218 probability that she has a bachelor degree. if a woman over the age of 25 is randomly selected, find the probability that she does not have a bachelors degree

help this. Thankyou

That she has a degree or does not have a degree are mutually exclusive events. What do you know about probabilities of mutually exclusive events?

I was reading documentation about the soundness and completeness of logic formal systems. Consider the following $$\vdash_S \phi$$ where ##S## is the proof-system making part the formal system and ##\phi## is a wff (well formed formula) of the formal language. Note the blank on left of the turnstile symbol ##\vdash_S##, as far as I can tell it actually represents the empty set. So what does it mean ? I guess it actually means ##\phi## is a theorem of the formal system, i.e. there is a...
