AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the "Law of existence," which posits that only those who know this law or have communicated with someone who knows it truly exist. Participants debate the validity of this law, questioning its assumptions and the impossibility of proving the existence of those who do not know it. Key points include the assertion that all communication and existence may ultimately rely on faith, and the challenge of proving the law's truth or the existence of others based on its criteria. Critics highlight the uncertainty surrounding the law's premises, arguing that without a clear definition of the law, its truth cannot be established. The conversation reflects philosophical inquiries into existence, communication, and the nature of belief.

The Law of existence...

The Law of existence.
Anyone who knows this law, exists. Anyone who has communicated(one way or two way, in any form) with someone who knows this law, exists. Nobody else exists.

Assume that
1. This law is true.
2. I know this law.
3. You cannot communicate(one way or two way, in any form) with someone who does not know this law.

How would you prove that anyone who doesn't know this law exists?

i would communicate with you to learn the law and/or urge you to communicate with those who don't know the law.

that's the thing, u can't prove anyone exists by any means. everything is a type of faith.

so what if you can't prove it? i don't get why that's a problem.

This is not law, it is called a quibble.

"1. This law is true.
2. I know this law.
3. You cannot communicate(one way or two way, in any form) with someone who does not know this law."

1 is uncertain
2 is uncertain
3 is uncertain

You have not proved any of these. Maybe this law is true, but as you have not stated the law is cannot even be decided whether it can be assumed to be true or not.

Just ONCE, I wanted to see a post titled Status Update that was not a blatant, annoying spam post by a new member. So here it is. Today was a good day here in Northern Wisconsin. Fall colors are here, no mosquitos, no deer flies, and mild temperature, so my morning run was unusually nice. Only two meetings today, and both went well. The deer that was road killed just down the road two weeks ago is now fully decomposed, so no more smell. Somebody has a spike buck skull for their...
