The discussion revolves around the performance and visual impact of a Skyrim graphics mod that utilizes 100 different mods simultaneously. Participants express their thoughts on the feasibility of running such a configuration and share their desire for gameplay footage.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants mention that running 100 mods may result in extremely low frame rates, with one suggesting it could be below 5 frames per second.
  • There is speculation that even high-end setups, such as a four-way SLI GTX 680, would struggle to achieve playable frame rates with these mods.
  • One participant expresses admiration for the visuals, stating they are the most breathtaking seen in a video game.
  • Multiple participants express a desire to see gameplay footage rather than just panning shots, indicating a preference for actual gameplay experience.
  • There is uncertainty about whether any gameplay footage exists, with one participant indicating they would look for it.
  • Concerns are raised about the difficulty of playing a game at such low frame rates, suggesting it could be frustrating.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the impressive visuals of the mod but express differing views on the feasibility of playing the game at such low frame rates. The discussion remains unresolved regarding the availability of gameplay footage.

Contextual Notes

Participants rely on anecdotal evidence regarding performance metrics and do not provide definitive benchmarks or tests to support their claims.

I'd like to see video of it. This makes me want to get back into Skyrim. It's been awhile.

It's Kotaku which makes Fox News look respectable.

Apparently he was getting below 5 frames per second using a Core i7 and a GTX 670 and the game was "completely unplayable."

I bet that even four-way SLI GTX 680, superclocked, and in a water cooling circuit would struggle to run this Skyrim with these ludicrous graphics mods at even 10 frames per second. All four GPU's would be loaded to 100% and then some.

Nevertheless, these are the most breathtaking visuals I have ever seen in a video game, PERIOD.

I'm not sure if there is any gameplay footage. But I'll go look.

I would imagine it would be extremely hard and frustrating to play a game when it runs at ~5 FPS.
