AI Thread Summary
Gamma-ray weapons, which release energy from atomic nuclei without nuclear fission or fusion, could potentially initiate a new arms race. These weapons emit gamma radiation, providing energy levels significantly higher than traditional chemical explosives. The implications of such technology raise concerns about global security and the prospect of escalating military capabilities. The development of gamma-ray weapons poses a threat to world peace, as nations may feel compelled to pursue similar advancements. The discussion highlights the urgent need for international regulations to manage the proliferation of such powerful technologies.

"The explosive works by stimulating the release of energy from the nuclei of certain elements but does not involve nuclear fission or fusion. The energy, emitted as gamma radiation, is thousands of times greater than that from conventional chemical explosives"

Bad news from interesting technology...

So much for world peace

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
